Experiencing God

Last night(12/10/2011) we went to the girls house for a Christmas party. We arrived at the end of a random Holy Spirit encounter where God chose to breakout while they hung out in the kitchen. We enjoyed some snacks and talked for a little while before my roommate Aaron went back into the kitchen and God chose to move again. Aaron was overwhelmed by the presence of God and soon everyone, except a few of us, were in the kitchen enjoying the presence. I encouraged my brother Robert to go into the kitchen and see what God does.Immediately my friends started prophesying over Him. Encouraging and uplifting Him. I went into the kitchen and stood there watching them pour into Robert. My heart was full of Joy. Then Aaron randomly gave me a word that he saw Veggie tales and that I was able to efficiently and effectively communicate the things of God simply just by being and Loving. This was a fantastic word. After Him, Chelsea spoke over me that "I protect God's heart. That I was called to protect His heart and share it with others. (This corresponds with the fact that I am supposed to stand for God's name.) Then Abby spoke over me that I am at school so that God can tune my heart strings to His. She said: When my heart is tuned to God's heart the heavens are opened up. When I am truly who I was created to be, people will encounter God because I protect but also share God's love. I am a powerful person. I have the ability to share God's love with others. I am a lover of his presence.

After this encounter, I went hope and slept. The next day I asked myself what will be different about this encounter. How will I be different? How will I affect people differently? How will people be changed when they are around me? How will my life change? How will my priorities change? If nothing changes, is this encounter real? Are the words spoken over me real? Two things came to mind after these thoughts.

1. My first thought came through my daily bible app. I woke up in the morning and it listed 1 Corinthians 13: 7-8. (It (Love) always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.) This brought me back to the fact, that all I must do is abide in the Holy Spirit to live in His presence and let the overflow of His love be openly shared.

2. My second thought came as I wrote this. The words spoke over me will no doubt change my life. If this is true, then it is true that the Words that God speaks through me will change others lives. If I can abide in His presence and Love then the people around me will change and thrive. No toil included.

A few other thoughts. A pattern in my life ive noticed recently is that my heart is being wrecked when I see the Love of God manifest. When a child is healed. When a child speaks small wisdom's of God. When a man with fibro mialgia is given a Hug. When my brother is given a powerful word from God. My heart is being tuned to God's heart... :D

Secondly, I got a text from a previous co-worker that he had a dream that I was working at moonstone bistro, a high class restaurant here in Redding. He also said part of the reason I got the Job was because I was an MMA instructor.

In the end all I can say is that God is good. His love endures forever. He creates in me a pure, clean heart. He is the lover of my Soul and I He.

Vision and Action

You've got to get to the stage in life where going for it is more important than winning or losing.

- Arthur Ashe

Last night I had the great privilege to experience the indie film phenomenon called the Telluride Films. These films are played at different venues throughout the nation. Often hosted by various groups interested in bringing culture to their towns and cities. Check out the festival that inspires the development of these films. www.telluridefestival.org

The first film was a documentary of Dean Potter's attempt to Freeclimb the north face of the Eiger, the visionary BaseJumper/BaseLiner/Extreme Free Climber. For those of you who do not know who he is or what he does, check out his wiki @ (http://en.wikipedia.or/wiki/Dean_Potter)

The film took you through Dean's previous accomplishments and educated you on how incredible his next feat truly was. FREECLIMBING the NORTH FACE of the EIGER. While the film was filled with adrenaline rushes and amazing cinematography, its ability to share Dean's fears and emotions with you was tantalizing. His accomplishment was a romantic view of what is possible when you conquer your own fears. A glimpse into the life of a pioneer of the 21st century.

I left the theater with the challenge to conquer my own fears. To achieve peace of mind even in the most frightful moments. To breath when I am downing... to fly when I am falling... to freeclimb my own Eiger.

"Always do what you are afraid to do."

One Act a Day.

This blog started on the notion that one act of kindness or love a day will change ones attitude and create a habit. I am using this blog to record every act of kindness in hopes that change in ones heart can be recorded and used to motivate people who read it.

Act one begins now.
