Last night I had the great privilege to experience the indie film phenomenon called the Telluride Films. These films are played at different venues throughout the nation. Often hosted by various groups interested in bringing culture to their towns and cities. Check out the festival that inspires the development of these films. www.telluridefestival.org

The first film was a documentary of Dean Potter's attempt to Freeclimb the north face of the Eiger,the visionary BaseJumper/BaseLiner/Extreme Free Climber. For those of you who do not know who he is or what he does, check out his wiki @ (http://en.wikipedia.or/wiki/Dean_Potter)

The film took you through Dean's previous accomplishments and educated you on how incredible his next feat truly was. FREECLIMBING the NORTH FACE of the EIGER. While the film was filled with adrenaline rushes and amazing cinematography, its ability to share Dean's fears and emotions with you was tantalizing. His accomplishment was a romantic view of what is possible when you conquer your own fears. A glimpse into the life of a pioneer of the 21st century.

I left the theater with the challenge to conquer my own fears. To achieve peace of mind even in the most frightful moments. To breath when I am downing... to fly when I am falling... to freeclimb my own Eiger.
